Help Wanted: Fundraising Coordinator

One of the great things about growing as an organization is that we have so many tasks to complete that we need more people to do them.  Of course, that’s also the downfall…you have to find people to do them.  But knowing our supporters and friends, we know there is someone out there that is up to the task.

As our organization has grown, we have had to divide the task of funding the organization into two areas-development (which I am heading up) and fundraising and events (which needs to be filled).  So we’re looking for someone-on a volunteer basis with the possibility of paid work in the future-who can step up and help us plan our events and basic community fundraising campaign.  While we cannot pay you now, this is great experience working with a great organization that allows you to really shine.

Overview


The Fundraising Coordinator at Stiggy’s Dogs will be instrumental in helping Stiggy’s Dogs meet its financial goals along with the Development Coordinator and Director. The Fundraising Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing regular fundraising efforts such as event planning and donor outreach n order to maintain funding for Stiggy’s Dogs Psychiatric Service Dog Program.

Responsibilities

  • Donor Relations
  • Generating gift acknowledgements and donor relations
  • Data entry of donations into software suite for donor development
  • Follow up with donors via letter and phone
  • Researching prospective donors
  • Event Planning
  • Planning and implementing special events in coordination with the Director and Development Coordinator
  • Staffing events and interacting with patrons and donors
  • Creating special events for donors
  • Development of ideas for new fundraisers or fundraising campaigns

 

Qualifications

  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct independent internet research of donors and donor prospects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Experience with database software preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Able to work 10-15 hours per week, of which may include 5 at or around Stiggy’s Dogs events and Sanctuary in Howell, MI
