Christmas in April…..

I am filled with deep appreciation for all the personal kindness our organization has received recently. I am overwhelmed by the show of support, the donations of money, gifts of things we desperately need, the emails of support, and the many people whom I am honored to know!
I don’t even know where to begin….

Less than a month ago, Terran Frye, (one of our Veterans, paired with Hershey) mentioned that we should have a Bowling Fundraiser……..and within a week, one was planned. I have to say that Terran was just initially giving us an idea, but it quickly turned into an event! Terran and his wife Michelle, worked immediately on getting donations from local business. Terran himself going from place to place, with Hershey proudly by his side. Rachel Cullen joined them to help our cause, and together they were the powerful force behind our successful Bowling for Heroes Fundraiser! Thank you sounds so insignificant for the gratitude I have for them!

SO many people in the community came forth to help. We received many donations from local business’s, and personal people. Family, friends, and strangers came together for one purpose. Standing in the room, looking at the people who showed, the gifts displayed on the tables, Terran talking with people while Hershey sat diligently by him, the Veterans and their families that drove far to attend……..This wasn’t about raising money, it was the commodore of the mix of people, coming together to help.

This past weekend was so full of goodness, that I thought I was going to bust! Not only because of Bowling for Heroes, but one wonderful act after another! First, we received a generous donation in the mail from Ben Wicklers family, Bobbie and Mike Farmer! Then another donation from Marie Simmons, for her grand-babies (Mele, Eric, Alexandria) in honor of their late grandpoppy, Dan Simmons; “They were the apple of his eye”. Jamie and Lilli Gorm brought us a Coffee Pot, silverware and a whole bunch of home-cooked food!!!! Lily, it was delicious! The Feltons (Tom/Danielle) and Groms (Jamie/Lily) bought us a Kitchen Table from Ikea! I then got a email this morning form Vicki Barnett, with anther wonderful donation being sent to us…….

So many wonderful people that have given. I am grateful, thankful, excited, happy, proud and inspired. I cant even begin to Thank everyone involved, (the people mentioned here, and the many not).
