We are excited about our newest Boot Camp recruit Hershey, a  2 year old black Lab/mix.  This is also Stiggys Dogs first North Carolina dog and foster Mom, Tara Casebolt. Please follow us along as we train Hershey and prepare her for her new ‘recipient’. (More on our veteran later..) 

I am here now in North Carolina (from Michigan) to insure the proper beginning, meet Hershey and start Tara off on our training process.

I first met Hershey late in the evening after I arrived. Tara brought her over to where I was staying. At the time she brought Hershey in, there were many people around, and a lot of loud activity. Hershey was a little nervous at first (tail tucked) but very sweet, curious and non reactive. Hershey sniffed everyone and once she was done, she went over and laid down by her trainer. I immediately sighed relief, she is a very sweet dog, looking for love.

Hershey has not had any formal training, but she is smart and picking up fast, wanting to please. She is more interested in praise than treats!

The video above shows her walking on a leash, not exactly the way we want it, but for a dog that has never been on one before, we are proud!
