Our Biggest Event Yet

Posted by kim on August 3, 2021

One of our newer supporters this past year has been the amazing Elaine Godlewski.  She initially donated to Stiggy’s Dogs online through our Rally page.  Her donation was in honor of Tim Haymend, a Deputy Garrison Commander (civilian) at Fort Sill, OK who passed away in 2009.

Elaine and I got to talking and Elaine almost immediately offered whatever she could to help Stiggy’s.  As it turns out, Elaine is the Marketting Director for the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts right here in Brighton, Michigan.  Within a matter of weeks, Elaine hatched a plan…bring in a national artist to raise money for Stiggy’s Dogs.

It took some time to get the planning right, but when Brian Vander Ark, lead singer for The Verve Pipe started following us on Twitter one day…nearly a day before Elaine made the offer…it seemed to be falling into place.  The Verve Pipe are an amazing band who put on an incredible show but more than that, their roots are here in Michigan and they always draw a diverse crowd.  Brian’s following of us on Twitter seemed to be hat sign I needed.

The next few weeks and months involved planning and contracts and brainstorming, but what came out of it was amazing.

On January 26, 2013, The Verve Pipe will be playing two shows at the Brighton Center for the Performing Arts-a daytime children’s show and a nighttime show featuring all of their hits (and from personal experience, some fantastic covers of songs you never thought were cool before but will now).  You may remember many of their hit songs such as “The Freshmen,” “Hero,” and “Photograph,” among others.  Their shows are amazing and this one promises to be a huge success…

…and it will benefit STIGGY’S DOGS.

Tickets just went on sale and you can get them now.  Tickets are $20 general admission, $18 for students, seniors and active duty military and veterans with ID.  You ca also opt to buy VIP tickets which get you special seating, a strolling dinner prior the show with a meet and greet with Stiggy’s and possibly an appearance from the band.

This is an incredible opportunity for us to have a national artist doing a benefit show for Stiggy’s Dogs.  We hope you all will buy tickets not only for you but for your friends and family for the holidays.  It’s a great night out that supports a great cause.   And it’s all because of the dedication of our supporters like you.

So right now, you and I have a date on January 26, 2022 right?  What are you waiting for?  Get your tickets NOW before they sell out.
