Actually this is about the men behind the Men of Stiggys Dog. This is important to me because it is personal to me.

Lauren Peterson called me a month ago, “omg Jen, I have a great idea!” (Lauren has many of them, so I was anxious to hear this one) as she rattled on the conversation went something like this…..”Create a calender of hot guys…..donations for Stiggy’s Dogs…..Maddy (her awesome photographer friend) offered to take the pictures (oh yes she did!)…..already talked to a few guys (Ben’s Band of Brothers) and they said they would do it for Stiggy…..

Lauren had me at “They will do this for Stiggy” (well, really at ‘with their shirts off”)

Due to Military rules (that I am unclear on) the guys in our calender could not named, ranked, or have any Military affiliation. However, I wanted to write this to let you all know there is much more behind these Men of Stiggys Dogs. Some of these guys were best friends with Ben, some there in Afghanistan when he was killed. Some guys who served with him came right up and asked to be in the calender. A few didn’t know Ben personally but asked to be in it because cause ‘they knew of him’. These are not models, these are not cocky guys trying to be seen. Nope, in fact a few of them weren’t really comfortable about taking their shirts off! (I know, right?)

I remember the end of that pone conversation with Lauren…..we were laughing saying that Ben was looking down on us shaking his head, saying “Why are you making a calender of guys? Hello????? I want to see hot GIRLS!!!!”  Well Ben, this is why we did it. When I look at this calender I see more than, hunks, tattoos, and muscles….I see the love of a fellow brother.  All in honor of you.

I personally want to thank these guys, these Men on Stiggy’s Dogs….The calender is AWESOME! I am personally grateful for what you did for this organization. (You know Ben is laughing down on you now!)  Knife Hand!

And yes…………the ‘Hot Girls for a Hot Cause’ is next……
