It has been a mere 15 days since we started Operation Declare and Remember.  Never in our wildest dreams could we imagine the incredible response that we’ve received from our supporters and the community at large.  We’ve been thrilled to see the many reasons why people like you support Stiggy’s Dogs.  For some it’s the mission of helping our deserving military veterans.  For others it’s the idea of rescuing great dogs and giving them a new purpose in life.  For others, it’s the fact that we use such a variety of breeds (and mutts) or that we reach out to veterans that are not otherwise reached by the formal methods of veteran support.

In a word, it’s been simply…amazing.

We still have a little over a week to go to meet our goals for this campaign.  We hope to raise $1000 (we are little over half way there) and reach 100 new followers (a goal that we quickly surpassed thanks to The Patrick Miracle).  We know that we can meet both of these goals and leave a lasting impression on the community with just nine more days to go.

One way that you can do this is by joining us in Frankenmuth, Michigan this Saturday and Sunday at the 2012 Dog Bowl.

The Dog Bowl is an annual event that showcases many of the talents that our canine companions have.  There are dock diving competitions, sheep hearding competitions, a costume contest, and even a chance to take a boat cruise down the Cass River.  And never forget the amazing food that Frankenmuth has to offer-world famous fried chicken dinners and bratwursts of all different varieties.  We’ll have a booth at the event and you’ll be able to do your Operation Declare and Remember photo right there.  We’ll also have some really fun freebies that you can take with you if you donate.  We hope to see you there…and your furry friends, too!
